6 October 2026
Cedar Primary School marked Singapore's 61st birthday with vibrant red-and-white celebrations, featuring an observance ceremony, level-tailored CCE lessons, lively recess activities including student-led karaoke, and a dazzling school concert that fostered national pride and unity.
National Day at Cedar Primary School is always one of the most anticipated highlights of the school calendar, filled with a sea of red and white, joyous cheers, and a deep sense of national pride. This year, our school came alive with vibrant celebrations as students and staff gathered to celebrate Singapore’s 61st birthday under the national theme.
The celebrations kicked off with an energetic and colorful morning. Students and teachers arrived decked out in striking red and white attire, turning the school compound into a living display of patriotism. Classrooms and corridors buzzed with excitement as the morning started with the National Day Observance Ceremony. Standing proud and united, the school recited the National Pledge and sang the National Anthem with gusto, followed by a hearty rendition of this year's theme songs that filled the hall with a joyful, collective voice.
Following the formal parade, Cedar Primary students participated in meaningful Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) lessons thoughtfully tailored for each level, alongside exciting recess activities such as lively student-led karaoke sessions that added to the festive atmosphere. Additionally, the school hall hosted a dazzling National Day concert that showcased our students' talents and celebrated our diverse cultural roots.
Beyond the fun and festivities, the National Day celebrations provided a meaningful platform for our students to reflect on the core values of resilience, unity, and gratitude. Through shared experiences, they learned to appreciate the peace and harmony we enjoy today and understood that every individual plays a vital role in shaping Singapore's future.
As the celebrations drew to a close with everyone waving their miniature flags high, our Cedar Primary students walked away with smiles on their faces, hearts full of pride, and a renewed commitment to build a brighter tomorrow together.
Happy 61st Birthday, Singapore! Majulah Singapura!
