Sports and Outdoor Education

Adventure Club

Adventure Club exposes students to Outdoor Learning, Sports Climbing and Sports Orienteering. Sports Climbing trains students to focus and build their confidence as they ascend the wall. Orienteering is called a thinking sport where students learn to be self-reliant and hone their skills in navigating and decision-making while problem-solving to locate each checkpoint.

Athletics

Athletics CCA provides opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and movement skills in relation to track and field through a series of running, jumping and throwing events. It is a platform for students to improve their health, fitness and character.

Football (Boys & Girls)

Football CCA provides students with opportunities to develop their individual football skills as well as hone their game awareness through football drills and small-sided games. Students will learn to be a skillful player and work cohesively towards a common goal, fostering team camaraderie.

Softball (Boys & Girls)

Softball is a bat-and-ball sport played by 2 teams of 9 players each. A game of softball involves 9 batters taking turns to play against the other team comprising of pitcher, catcher, 3 basemen, a shortstop and 3 outfielders. Students who joined Softball will learn the basic skills of catching, throwing and batting the ball.

Sports Club

The main objective of Sports Club is to instill joy in learning new sports at a non-competitive level. It is about developing students' interest in team sports and learn the values of fair play, sportsmanship and resilience. Sports Club exposes students to various team sports such as touch rugby, ultimate frisbee and tchoukball. These sports are not offered in the other sports CCAs and not taught within the PE syllabus. Students will learn how to collaborate with their teammates and take ownership of their learning, at their own pace.

Inventiveness

Future Innovators' Programme (FIP)

Future Innovators Programme (FIP) is the 2nd tier of Cedar Primary School’s Applied Learning Programme. It is a CCA where students who have the entrepreneurial spirit gather together to come up with new ideas, make positive improvements to the community and seek opportunities to appreciate aesthetics. We invite students to join FIP yearly to develop potential individuals who have the positive aptitude and attitude to take on challenges in school, community or even the world. Students will be taught how to question like How does this work? What can I do differently? before facilitated to generate tangible values-based solutions.

Infocomm Club

Infocomm Club provides students the platform to learn how to take photos, create a video, design a web page and other computer softwares. There will also be lessons on coding using the software Scratch where students can design and create their own animations and games.

Robotics Club

Robotics Club aims to develop creative and inventive Cedarians with critical thinking minds. Robotics is more than just playing with Lego bricks. Working in teams, students will be learning how to construct, programme and troubleshoot their robots to do a particular task or solve real life challenges using EV3 Mindstorms Lego sets.

The Arts

Art Club

In Art Club, students will be exposed to various art forms such as drawing, painting, new media, 3D pen and many more. Members will be able to foster the love and appreciation of visual art, develop creativity and self-expression and to provide opportunities to contribute to the school and community.

International Dance

International Dance provides students the opportunity to discover and explore modern and cultural contemporary dance forms where they develop to be versatile dancers. We have a family of multiracial dancers and that provides them an opportunity to develop cultural awareness. Through dance, students will learn to be more resilient and disciplined, alongside other school values that are regularly reiterated by our team of dedicated teachers.

Music Ensemble

In Music Ensemble, fellow music lovers come together to learn to play the Brass and Percussion instruments. There will be opportunities to perform during school events and to represent the school in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation.

Clubs and Societies

Kindness Club

Students in Kindness Club promote awareness of kindness and care toward people, the environment, animals and the society to make life better for everyone. They are actively involved in kindness initiatives to create a gracious society and lead school wide initiatives such as showing appreciation to the school's non-teaching staff and encouraging others to do their part in the school's recycling drive.

Cedar Theatre

In Cedar Theatre, students will be exposed to Speech and Drama. They will be engaged in discussions pertaining to Readers Theatre. Students will also learn skills essential to drama, such as voice projection and stage presence. There will be opportunities for students to showcase their talent via role play. In Cedar Theatre, members will also learn to be critical readers and confident speakers.

Uniformed Group

Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade are worldwide youth organisations aimed at shaping generations of young boys and girls into well-rounded individuals with exemplary character and leadership. Our multi-disciplined approach includes outdoor games and adventure, drill, community service and leadership training. Each student will be nurtured in the critical values of obedience, reverence, discipline and self-respect to reach his/her full potential as an active contributor to society.
